Public Interest Disclosure Act report
ICBC has rigorous practices for reporting wrongdoings, and the Public Interest Disclosure Act (PIDA) builds on those and strengthens our processes.
PIDA provides a legal way to report wrongdoing in B.C.’s public sector that protects employees who make a report or participate in an investigation from reprisal, such as demotion or termination, and ensures that employees under investigation are treated fairly. Under PIDA, a wrongdoing is an action that is potentially unlawful, dangerous to the public or injurious to the public interest. For example, serious misuse of public funds or directing someone to commit an offence under a B.C. regulation.
