Statement on ICBC president and CEO joining Powerex Corp.

David Wong is leaving ICBC for a new opportunity as the CEO of Powerex Corp, a wholly owned subsidiary of BC Hydro. ICBC would like to sincerely thank David for leading ICBC for the past two years. His last day with us will be May 30, 2025.

ICBC’s board of directors is pleased to announce Jason McDaniel as our interim president and CEO starting June 1, 2025.

Jason is currently ICBC’s vice president of operations. He joined ICBC in 2006 and has held several leadership roles, including Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary, where he played a pivotal role in shifting B.C.’s auto insurance system from a legal-based model to Enhanced Care.
